Finishing school

Yee haa…already finished my “finishing school” programme at my campus. That’s programme was another programme under my campus that’s all student must participate before graduated. It taught me lot about the real life situation that we would face when entering career world soon. My facilitator was Prof. Dr Osmanu Haruna Ahmed. He was a Nigerians I think, but he was a Muslim. My first impression when seeing him during the programmes is I might have trouble in communication. But, I’m wrong. We had a really good conversation wit him and felt absolutely comfortable when we were talking about sensitive issues. Well, I think we were matured enough to receive kind of issued and exchange our perception and ideas.

My favourite module during that programmes was during interview module. That’s asking us to make resume and cover letter. Now, I know what the different between resume and CV. Instead, am also learning the important of cover letter when we want to apply and seek for jobs. I’m sure and pretty confident by myself that I can make impressed resume and cover letter once I entering career world. Another thrill part during this interview module was a chance given for us to learn the right ways to walk, dress-up code and skill to answers question during interview. Like my Prof Dr. Osmanu said. The question they asked might sound simple but almost the entire candidate could not answer it well. For example, when the question asked about “tell us about yourself?” most candidate would explain about their family and self background. That’s was absolutely WRONG. They not interested about your family and life. But, they want to know, your experience that related to the job you apply.

Well, I can surely guaranteed that I will be well prepared during interviewed.
