there's always room for improvement

so i saw the movie whip it. on dvd. everyone else hated it!! i didn't hate it, but i understand their point about the different formulas and things used. but on the OTHER hand: how often are women the center of the story? never! how often are women strong or aggressive or even violent? never! how often are women in SPORTS???? in a movie? on tv? NEVER! the main character goes outside of herself and her comfort zone and she pursues something. she improves and makes progress at something. she teaches herself to skate and she works with a team and they become winners. kind of winners. they become dedicated at least. these are all things that are awesome.

i wish every woman had her own roller derby team of support and competition and release of rage. oh you don't think you have no rage? well you do! you really do. it's just hidden and slightly buried beneath your normal citizenship. once you buy jillian michaels kickboxing dvd you will be throwing air punches like you were born to do it, and you had no idea that anger was in there.

maybe you think you agree with me in theory, but you still hate the movie. well go and write a better one muther ducker. i mean, i'm beggin you! who else even tries? quentin tarantino.... amy poehler.... we could use more than 3 people doing something about it. write me a movie already. go bust the whole thing wide open.
